Coffee capsules and pods – new CONAI rules effective August 12, 2026

As of August 12, 2026, new rules governing coffee capsules and pods enter into force in Italy, enacted by CONAI in implementation of the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). These rules modify the classification and producer responsibilities for single-use coffee capsules and pods, affecting how producers must manage these products within the extended producer responsibility framework.
