The Italian Ministry of Environment (Mase) has launched a public consultation on a legislative decree that will introduce Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) requirements for the furniture and furnishings sector. Under the proposed EPR regime, producers will assume responsibility for the end-of-life management of their products, including collection, treatment, and recycling obligations. The consultation is open to stakeholders and the general public until 18 September 2026. This initiative aligns with EU circular economy policies and aims to enhance waste management and resource recovery in the furniture industry. Interested parties can submit comments and feedback on the draft decree during the consultation period.
