The European Commission updated the list of products subject to the EU Deforestation Regulation (UEDR or EUDR), which requires producers and importers to conduct due diligence on supply chains to prevent forest-risk commodities. The revised product list expands or clarifies coverage of primary and derived products that must comply with deforestation due diligence requirements. From the end of 2026, producers placing these products on the EU market must demonstrate that their supply chains do not contribute to deforestation or forest degradation. Due diligence obligations include supply chain mapping, risk assessment, and traceability documentation. Affected producers must update their procurement practices, supplier management systems, and compliance documentation to meet the expanded UEDR requirements. The regulation represents an extension of producer responsibility toward sustainability governance in agricultural and forestry-dependent supply chains.
